Allowing global bots

Macedonia map

Hello, I'm working on a new topographical map of the R.o.Macedonia, which you guys might be interested in. Could somebody perhaps help reviewing the map? I'll need corrections, additions, updates. Like for instance, what additional towns or names of geographical features to include, or what the current status of the road network is (my sources were probably outdated on that). The draft map is at commons:File:R.o.Macedonia topography.svg. Please comment on the image talk page on commons or on my en-wiki user talk page. Although we will soon remove the centralnotice that is up, the Wikimedia Strategic Planning project is still looking for volunteers to serve as subject area advisors or to sit on task forces that will study particular topics and make recommend short- and long-term strategies for the Wikimedia projects and Foundation, and the wiki movement.

To apply to serve on a task force or be an advisor in a specific area, visit http://volunteer.wikimedia.org.

The Wikimedia Strategic Planning project is a year-long collaborative process being hosted at http://strategy.wikimedia.org. Your input is welcome there, and will drive the process. When the task forces begin to meet, they will do their work transparently and on that wiki, and anyone may join fully in their work. We hope to include as many community members as possible in the process.

He had translated a lot of works by Macedonian writers. I can deliver any auxilliary information about him. Андриј Лисенко (украински: Андрій Євменович Лисенко; November 30, 1915,— November 14, 1984), Ukranian interpreter.

Lysenko was born to a poor peasant family in Katerynoslav (today’s Dnipropetrovs’k). Graduated from Dnipropetrovs’k institute of popular education (1933), then from Kiev university (1938). In his youth made first attempts to write poems and short stories. Taught at Dnipropetrovs’k university, later at Chernivtsi university.

Took part in the World War II, was heavily wounded. After the war, was a lecturer in L’viv university, later took some administrative positions in the Union of Ukranian Writers.

His literary activity began in mid-fifties. Lysenko translated a great deal of literary works from various Slavic languages into Ukranian. Novels, stories and plays had been translated by him from Bulgarian, Serbo-Croatian, Byelorussian, and Russian, but his greatest achievment was a series of translations from Macedonian.

Lysenko had translated:

Fourty-three stories of 27 Macedonian authors translated by Lysenko made up a book „Македонська новела“ printed in Kiev in 1972. The same year, he won the „Златно перо“ award (Macedonian) for this book. During next years he continued translating and commenting works by Macedonian writers until his death.

Благодарам! The only remark is that Ukranian word новела is not equal to English novel (and thus Macedonian роман as I can judge), but rather short story or novella. According to this the name of book „Македонски роман (книга)“ should be changed to either „Македонска новела (книга)“ or „Македонска приказна (книга)“.— Сисојић (разговор) 20:01, 11 април 2010 (UTC)

A request

Hello. I'm an editor on the Hebrew Wiki: w:he:משתמש:assayas. I have written a new article about Štip and a sub-article about the jewish community in Skopje. I read that there are on going official projects of reconstruction and conservation of Jewish cemeteries in Štip and Bitola. Firstly, it is a Noble act, as in some parts of europe Jewish Cemeteries are beeing Desecrated, Macedonia is a symbol of Toleration and Dignity.

Unfortunatly there are not any free Photos of: The old "Monopol" Tobacco factory in Skopje which was used as a Detention Camp for Macedonian jews.

The old cemeteries in Bitola and Štip.( From outside or from away Observation).

Connectivity Project mk

The essence of the "Connectivity" project is to study and enhance the coherence of Wikipedia, or, in other words, to improve hypertext navigation between articles. The project deals with deadends, isolated articles, non-categorized articles, transitivity of the category tree, etc.

Škreti

Здравствуйте!!! Извините, что пишу Вам на языке который знаю с рождения. Меня очень заинтересовала статья (http://mk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Шкрети), где раскрывается понятие Škreti-которое является названием этнических македонцев, полученного на албанском языке, и проживающих в Республике Македония, в верховьях реки (Mavrovsko сегодня Rostuše муниципалитета, Ловеч). Может я что-то не правильно понял после автоматического перевода с македонского? Дело в том, что моя фамилия Шкрет и я ищу корни происхождения, откуда переселились мои предки в районы Юга и Западной Сибири царской России, в 19-20 веке, где сейчас компактно и проживают, но при этом являются однофамильцами.... У меня просто появилось предположение, что всем славянским переселенцам (беженцам) из Македонии (в то время Турецкой Албании) в России давалась фамилия Шкрет ( далее появились изменения в Шкред, обрусевший вариант Шкретов и т.д.). Это только моя гипотеза, я простой человек и могу ошибаться. Если у вас есть какая-нибудь информация о переселенцах Македонии в Россию и возможном отношении моей фамилии к понятию Škreti? прошу Вас ответить мне! Template namespace initialisation script

the towm/village: Добро Поле

Visiting Macedonia

Apologies for posting in English even though this an English-language Village Pump: I don't speak Macedonian, but I speak Polish. :)

Anyway, hi guys. I'm Josh Lim, Vice-President of Wikimedia Philippines, and as part of a one-month tour around the Balkan countries I intend to stop by Macedonia in mid-June (tentatively June 16-18). It would be an honor for me, my chapter and the entire Filipino Wikipedia community if I'll be able to meet with Macedonian Wikipedians, as I'm also meeting Serbian Wikipedians in Belgrade about a week before I stop by there.

If there is interest, I will be glad to participate in a meetup with you guys if you have one scheduled, or maybe one can be arranged.
