English: Worlds Best Fruitcake Katya Creates photo D Ramey Logan: 2 cups red candied cherries - 2 cups white seedless raisins - 2 cups bourbon +/- / 2 cups butter - 2 cups sugar - 2 cups packed brown sugar - 8 eggs - 5 cups flour sifted - 4 cups pecans - 1.5 teaspoons baking powder - 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoon ground nutmeg. > First combine cherries raisins and bourbon in bowl refrigerate overnight. drain and save bourbon. Butter in bowl mix till fluffy, slowly add sugars then eggs yolks till blended. Sift together Flower Nutmeg baking powder and salt. Sift half into creamed mixture add bourbon and flour alternating between the two. Beat and fold egg whites into batter. add fruits and nut mixture into batter and place into 10 inch tube cake pan bake at 275 for 4.5 to 5 hours cool for 3 to 5 hours then remove from pan, wrap baked cake in cheesecloth and saturate with bourbon, then wrap with aluminum foil and store in container in the refrigerator for 3 months keep moist with bourbon. Enjoy!
