Базионим

Базионим (латински basionym, од грчки βασις - основа и ωνυμα - име) — поим што во научното име на видот го означува изворното име врз кое се темели новото име. Наведувањето на новото име од страна на авторот треба да го вклучи базионимот на авторот во загради. Поимот базионим се користи и во ботаниката и во зоологијата.^[1]Во зоологијата, понекогаш се користат и алтернативни поими како изворна комбинација^[2] или протоним^[1]^[3]. Во бактериологијата се користи сличен поим, базоним.^[4]

Пример

Кога Јосип Панчиќ ја открил омориката во 1877 година, ѝ го дал научното име Pinus omorika Pančić, и тоа е базионим. Смрчите, родот на кој припаѓа омориката, во тоа време биле во родот борови Pinus, и со одвојувањето на смрчата од родот борови, омориката го добила своето сегашно признато име Picea omorika (Pančić) Purk.

Панчиќ, авторот на базионимот, е напишан во загради, а потоа стои името на авторот на признатото име Purk. Емануел фон Пуркиње (чешки: Emanuel von Purkyně, 1832-1882) чешки ботаничар и метеоролог.
